About Bea Daggett
Chris Daggett and Bea Horvath met in New Jersey and married in 1982.
Bea was born in Budapest, Hungary and was only a year old when her father, an air force pilot and an engineer, had to flee his country when Soviet tanks rolled in to crush the Hungarian Revolution. It was not until more than four years later that Bea and her mother and brother were allowed to join her father in the United States.
Like so many immigrant children today, Bea spoke no English when she arrived. She attended the Mt. Vernon elementary school in Newark and then moved to Poughkeepsie, NY. She graduated from Vassar College majoring in political science, and went to work for New Jersey Reporter magazine, New Jersey Public Television and Keyes Martin advertising.
In addition to doing public relations and development consulting work, Bea served nine years on the Bernards Township Board of Education and is currently a board member of Bonnie Brae, a residential treatment center for troubled youngsters. Four years ago, she obtained her real estate license and currently works for Turpin Real Estate.
Bea and Chris have two daughters, Alexandra, a 2006 graduate of Columbia University, and Justine, who graduated in May from Bucknell University.
Alexandra (Ali) Daggett
Alexandra Daggett graduated from Columbia University with a psychology major and an art history minor. Post graduation, she worked in a variety of project management and interactive marketing roles in the wines and spirits industry. She is currently an account executive at a branding and design agency in New York.
Ali lives in Manhattan and enjoys running, cooking, and skiing in her free time. During the summer, her favorite destination is the New Jersey shore.
Justine Daggett
Justine graduated from Bucknell University in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Education, majoring in Elementary Education and with a special focus on Early Childhood Education. She is in the process of obtaining her New Jersey teaching certification.
At Bucknell, Justine was co-president and treasurer of the Bucknell chapter of the Pennsylvania State Education Association and the Do Random Acts of Kindness Club. She has also been a tour guide for prospective students.
Justine recently returned from an overseas trip to Egypt, where she studied Egyptian history, architecture and culture. Her group visited a number of cities including Cairo, Luxor, Abu Simbel, and Aswan. Justine was particularly excited to see the pyramids, the sphinx and the Aswan Dam.
In her spare time, Justine enjoys playing tennis and reading. Read Justine’s experiences on the campaign trail at JustineDaggett.com
