Wilson Endorsement

Wilson, a Democrat who is the second ranking officer in the New Jersey State League of Municipalities, called Daggett the best and right person to be the next Governor of New Jersey.
“He listens to people, he understands government and business, and he’s a bulldog when it comes to getting things done,’’ she said. “He’s a skillful problem solver, a consensus builder, a leader,’’ Wilson said at a press conference in the Statehouse Annex.
Wilson described the state facing a “fiscal crisis of monstrous proportion,’’ which was created by legislators and governors of both parties.
“I’m here today because people in my township and in most of the rest of the state are paying extremely high property taxes, the situation gets worse every year, and I believe that neither of the major party candidates can or will fix it,’’ Wilson said.
The mayor said it is time to elect an independent who is free of party pressures and special interests as governor.
“If all of you voters who are sick and tired of the status quo in Trenton vote for Chris Daggett, he will be our next governor. I think the people of New Jersey are smart enough to get that, and fed up enough to make it happen,’’ she said.
